Has anyone had experience with a seller named Brian Friddle, whose e-mail address is soccerbro2001@yahoo.com? He offered items for sale on the message board and I sent him a money order for over $80 which he acknowledged receiving. That's the last I've heard, and he has not responded to three e-mails from me over the last week and a half asking what happened to the material I bought? Would appreciate any experience/feedback from fellow members. Thanks. ------------------

Apparently he is in the military, and was sent TDY (temporary duty) and was unable to respond until today. He has posted today in another topic and replied to an email that I sent him earlier. I would suggest to try him again.Tom |

O.K., I find that I am having to defend myself in a group atmosphere which should have been aired offline. As was mentioned, I was sent TDY ( and NO I am not at liberty to discuss it any further ) to a place outside of the U.S. I just got back as of late last night, and come back to this. Just so EVERYONE knows........ Steve's stuff did not go out as was planned due to my having to leave right away. However that was rectified. I also would like to inform him that in his post he seems to give the impression that I am some sort of dealer..... again not true. I have been selling more to fund some legal things ( which I will not get into again). So Steve, I suggest before you start the process of dragging good people thru the mud ( which I have seen happen both here and elsewhere by posts such as yours, that you make every attempt to do things offline. None of this was anyone else's business, and your posting a dollar amount and such was not really cared for. So, I will say two things..... Firstly, I DO serve in the military, and I am on a team that can be sent to anywhere in the world at the drop of a hat. Why? to protect the freedoms that you and everyone else ( including myself ) enjoy. So cut not only myself, but everyone who serves a bit of a break. Secondly, I am asking you to please not ask for any other lists, or participate in freebies, or anything else I may offer. I do not like the way you operate. So knock it off. Enough said.
Robert, I am sorry I am venting in the forum, but I wanted to make it known that I feel he DID have a reason to complain, but not air the entire transaction as he did. I will not be posting further on this subject. I consider it closed.Brian 12thFS P.S. Thanks Scout ( Tom ) for being understanding. I appreciate people realizing that serving my country isn't all fun and games. |

Dear Brian:After Tom explained the situation, I was completely understanding your situation sending out Steve's items, but your follow-up post completely alienated me and I'm sure some others who will read it. I do not know Steve Shaffer and have never met the guy, but if you re-read his post, he was simply explaining a dilemma and asking if any of us had had any experiences dealing with you...that's all. You sure flew off the handle there, Brian. I'm glad you serve in the service and respect that plenty, but there are MANY of us who would logically assume there might be a problem if we had sent money, followed by three e-mails, and got no response from someone who was selling us an item. Come on, Brian, I assume you are a reasonable guy: This fellow had a logical concern and asked the group if we knew you. And then Tom kindly explained your situation. Fair enough. Nobody would slam a guy knowing your situation. Did you really have to be so defensive about the whole thing? Rob |

Who was talking about military personnel?? How did he know where you were or what you were doing ... he was just concerned about getting beat which in my opinion was NOT an over reaction ... the only over reaction here has been yours! O.K. of course as usual alot of you will defend collectors etc. All I can say is I did not find my post out of line. And.... get off my case about being patriotic. I could care less if you guys like me or not, or if i alienate you. I'm not here to be liked by the masses of you. You do your collecting as you see fit. As for me, I was told about all the prima-donna's on these sites, and wow! the people telling me were sure right. I won't stoop to your levels, so I am not going to say what I really feel like saying. As I said, I wasn't coming here to make new life long friends. Go ahead and blacklist me. Does it really matter what all of you think? I've gotten some really decent emails about this matter, and thanks to all of you who support what I said. It's appreciated even though it really doesn't matter. As for bringing matters as such into the forums? I still believe that it could have been handled elsewhere. And to those of you that want to judge me..... go to hell. This will be my last post, and I am sure some of you will respond with applause to that. |

And please tell me this banned me for good, because you idiots that seem to want to rule the collecting world sure do have a way of ruining it for others. And........... well.....
