I wonder which of the "astronauts" added that priceless inscription to the Salvation Army Boys Club. |

The inscription looks like it's in ol' "Wheatle Golden"'s (supposedly Michael Collins) handwriting! Very silly stuff indeed.Best, Bruce |

You do have to admire the chutzpah involved at posting close scans of a fake that bad.... |

Hi,I have never seen such an awful Armstrong, Aldrin and Collins! This seller has a nice hand-writing but he should only write his own name and not the names of our Apollo-heros! I am glad to get some photos signed in person of the Apollo 11 crew in the early 90`s! I like this forum to learn more and more about real signatures and fakes! Happy collecting! Spaceflyer |

Yeah, thats the worst Apollo 11 forgery I have ever seen. I can't believe they would even try and sell it. |

Actually, it's so bad I don't think it was an attempt to hoodwink. I challenged the seller, who replied in a reasonable manner and asked why I thought it a fake. I gave a few pointers and she conceded that it couldn't be genuine. The photo has now been withdrawn. Maybe I'm naive, but I wonder whether this was a joke photo from a father or uncle to some kid to impress him, which then turned up in an estate sale. Think about it - could anyone who knows about astronaut autographs SERIOUSLY have expected to pass this off as genuine? |
