This collection is unique but not complete due to the fact that current Russian Federation award system is extremely loose and some awards do not have an official standing. I mostly concentrated on Soviet issued items going back to the 1960, with transitional to Roscosmos of the 90's.

See the collection here. Asking $5999 or best offer.

I do not collect Russian Space Troops awards.

Russian Space Exploration Award System dedicated not only to people who fly but to the scientist who made a major contribution to the space flight and people who train them.

The award collection is broken in to sections. One commemorating space flight milestones and specific cosmonauts like Uri Gagarin and others.

  1. Scientist who left contribution to the Russian Space Industry
  2. Milestone in space missions
  3. Radio Communications
  4. Spaceports anniversaries
  5. Flight training and cosmonauts preparation facility services awards
  6. Veterans of space flight industry and individual groups responsible for space port and launch operation and readiness.
  7. Space museum contributors and curators

Some of these awards are strictly internal for a small groups of people. For example "25 years of command group 2" which is a launch preparation group. The collection also has recognition awards like "To the celebrated space hardware tester" and other internal group awards. The most difficult items to collect are the space veteran awards. Items like Master of Space Engine Constructions and Master Chemist for propellant production.

As my collection guide, I used two books written by Mr. Omelko with descriptions in both English and Russian for 80% of the awards in my collection. I will send these books together with my collection. In these books, Omelko states that it is impossible to track everything "awarded" in the space program due to extremely limited productions.

Building this collection was not easy. I contacted people in Russia to look for these awards in shops and auctions. It took me almost 7 years to collect these. Some awards where purchased for $10 and some for hundreds. Some space federation awards have serial numbers.

Please be advised the small hexagon award "Cosmonaut Of the Soviet Union" is a copy place holder. It is believed that Soviet Mint made simple copies for everyday wear since the original would by priceless. Only few dozens were made.

I can be reached at (917) 836-8396. Thank you for your time.
