ET/Shuttle Stack Assembly leading edge nose cone aerospike — affixed to the ET nose cone, hosted a altitude ascent sensor which supply data to the onboard flight computer (it also served as a lightening conductor). The very first shuttle stack component to slip through the atmosphere on its way to orbit. Only known example in private hands, the California Science Center has one on exhibit.
