I have six Apollo 11 Beta cloth patches. These patches were found as abandoned property at the former site of Roma Chemical in Fall River, MA, the company contracted by Owens Corning to mix the pigments for the patches. It appears that the original intention of the patches I have were to promote the quality of Roma Chemicals ink and were to be given away. That said, they are from the original manufacturers (Printer = Screen Print Corp of Coventry, RI, Color Mixer = Roma Chemical of Fall River, MA, Fabric Manufacturer = Owens Corning of Ashton, RI), using the original process. They are the same in every way as the ones provided to NASA.
A description of the Apollo Beta Patch history can be read at crewpatches.com.
Condition: These patches are period and were not stored ideally. The patches are in the original, factory sealed envelopes. Two of the ten patches have discoloration on the envelope (rust from the staples holding the beta cloth to a card). The patch and advertising inside are not affected. It is also important to note that some of the patches do not have exact registration (meaning that as the colors were applied in layers with each color being separately applied, an “exact registration” would be all of the colors lining up exactly.) I do not feel that this should affect the value as the actual patches on Neil, Buzz and Mike’s suits also did not have exact registration.
I am asking $100 each for these patches. Must be paid for via PayPal and does include U.S. domestic shipping (Requests for expedited shipping will be quoted separately). Purchases outside the U.S. will be quoted separately. Please inbox me if you are interested. Will also consider trades.
Please email me for scans.
