Does anybody have any flown Apollo flags for sale? I would like to get any flown flag but would preferred flag of later Yugoslavia. Perhaps flag from Apollo 15 brought back by Astronaut Al Worden? I did try to find on for sale on internet but sadly couldn't find one. American flags are sadly over my budget. — Stanislav |

Stanislav, first of all, welcome to collectSPACE! Flown flags from Apollo vary widely in price. Best bet for less expensive options on a presentation might be from Skylab or ASTP. Just keep looking and have patience. These flags come on the market occasionally, and you might be able to find examples you like for under $1,000 if you take your time. If the presentation (or the flag) is signed by crew members there is usually a premium price-wise. Good luck! |

Try Heritage Auctions and search for "Apollo Flown Flag". There is a Space Exploration Auction this Friday 19 May. Also if you view past sale prices you can make an offer to some of the previous winners.Look out for Bonhams Space History Auction on 19 July, you might be able to pick up a flown flag there with some luck. Lunar Legacies and Moonpans are also sites to keep an eye on. RR Auction has monthly and biannual space auctions. Finally keep trawling eBay, you never know when something will pop up. For all of these sites, pay close attention to provenance or origin of the flag, chain of custody etc. Do your research and read collectSPACE posts and be cautious. Make sure that your flown flag really was flown and test the supporting evidence for flaws. |

You can also buy one directly from Walt Cunningham. Guaranteed authentic, and flown on the very first manned Apollo flight. And, no... I don't get a commission from sales. |

Great suggestion about Walt!So the question then is would you be happy with a Low Earth Orbit flown Apollo flag e.g. Apollo 7 or Apollo 9 or Apollo-Soyuz, or do you really want a lunar orbit flown flag? The closer you get to the moon i.e. orbit versus surface, the higher the price will be. Decisions, decisions... |

Best would be flag from lunar surface . Best bet is probably Apollo 10 flag. It seems that they are most affordable. |
