I have just finished cataloging my collection of space books and NASA booklets put together over a period of 25 years. I am selling this collection in anticipation of moving to a smaller home at some future point down the road. However, I am in no hurry to unload this collection. If you want a download of the collection, please notify me at silx404@aol.com immediately and I will forward one to you.

There are more than 570 items being offered as ONE collection. I do not plan to split up this collection. The inventory consists of over 17 pages. Some NASA booklets and brochures are not listed to save time and space and are not included in the 570 item count. Each item is graded. I’ve used the standard grades used by antiquarian book dealers such as Good, Very Good, Fine, and As New. All grading is subjective to a degree but I have tried to be as objective as possible. I think that you will find very very few items with a grading of Good in this collection. Anything less than good or even good is not really collectible. For example, the grade of VG/F would indicate that the book has a very good dust jacket and the book itself is in fine condition. When “as new” is stated as the grade, both the dust jacket and the book are in “as new” condition unless indicated otherwise. Almost all dust jackets in this collection are contained in fresh archival dust jacket covers.

Of the over 570 items, 25 are National Geographic editions from 1957 to the 1980’s relating to the space program. There are also at least 69 juvenile books and some 45 books which are former library books. Eleven of the juvenile books are also ex-library. I added ex-library copies when other copies were not available but only clean examples.

There is a decent selection of all areas... including NASA histories, V-2, NASA publications (both hardbacks and booklets), X program histories, and biographies.
Almost none are autographed except where indicated.

This collection can either add to an already existing collection or be the beginning of a new collection for the avid space collector.

I am asking $2500.00 for the entire collection without shipping costs firm. With over 570 items in the collection, the cost comes out to less than $5 per item. My wife and I often spend four times that for a two week vacation out of the country. Being a long time book collector I know all too well that this collection is worth far more without any consideration for the time and energy spent putting it together. Many of the items included cost in excess of $20 each and even more over the years. I am encouraging any prospective buyer to pick up this collection and inspect it on site in order to save the high shipping cost associated with it. I live about 50 miles NW of Phila. in Berks County, Pa. If the collection doesn’t sell as a complete collection, I will be donating it to a college/university that has a science library and has expressed interest. I’ve done that with a literary collection in the past so I know it will work well with this collection if need be.

Please email me at silx404@aol.com if you have any questions at all.

Let us (or me) how things work out with your collection. I've tried everything (except eBay), nobody wants books. I hope you'll be more successful.

Quite a few of us are into books, but 570 is a lot, and there would certainly be many duplicates of what we already have. I would buy some for sure, but not a large lot like this.

Ditto the other collectors. I love books, and I have many, but there's a lot I don't have. I definitely do not want to spend that kind of money on something I'll have to turn around and sell the vast majority of the collection just to get the ones I want.

It's really a shame that you don't sell them individually. You'd definitely make a lot of collectors happy and you'd probably make a lot more money from the books as well. Thatt's obviously your choice though.

All times are CT (US)
