I have a Grumman LM contractor's model by Topping in OK condition, but with no base. (Technically it has a replica base that somebody did a decent job on, but I'd like the real deal.)

Does anyone have an original base available? I would also be willing to buy a LM in terrible condition (missing thrusters and antannae, yellowing, etc.) if it comes with a base in OK condition. Such a model reached a top bid of $405 on eBay yesterday.

(Considering the fact that they came on nice stable bases, has anyone else ever thought that it's strange how many of these models are so bashed up? I know they are about 50 years old, but it's unusual to see one that doesn't look like it was dropped multiple times. My theory is that it's hard for even adults to resist re-enacting a lunar landing with one.)
