You really missed out on a grand event by not going last night. A nice "Cast of Characters" and an "event done right". The food was great, company awesome and the SWOF did an excellent job for a very good price to boot. The SWOF moved into the serious big time with a donation just a couple of days before of $100,000, and a promise to match and any all donations by the same benefactor, up to $100,000 during the upcoming year. I didn't list the "hammer prices", but the auction fetched a seriously pretty penny during the evening as well. I'd have to say it fetched at least $15,000, and I'm guessing on the way low end. Great news, as this is a grand organization. So good to sit with Robert Synge and his lovely wife Sue, and see a couple of other folks. | |
