The Space Walk of Fame and PropaPlace Hobby Shop are cosponsoring a Demonstration Rocket Launch, Saturday, June 18 from 9 to 12 noon, at Sand Point Park in Downtown Titusville. Come and enjoy the family friendly experience of model rocketry.
You may bring your own model rockets (limited to A, B or C engines) or purchase your kits on site. There will be spare motors and igniters available for sale. Launch control unit will be provided by PropaPlace Hobby Shop and professional instruction and assistance will be available. Several central Florida rocket clubs will participate in the demonstration and launch rockets for your viewing pleasure.
We anticipate attendance by some of our experienced NASA personnel who have been involved in the manned programs and they will be prepared to conduct tours of our Space View Park to explain our monuments.
This event, "A Tribute to Manned Flight," will honor the many years of our involvement in manned space programs prior to the last launch of the Atlantis. We will be highlighting the U.S. Space Walk of Fame Monuments and Museum and establishing a local rocket club here in downtown Titusville.
