Robert "Hoot" Gibson will be inducted into the Cradle of Aviation's Long Island Air and Space Hall of Fame this year, according to the Garden City, NY's museum's Facebook page. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be able to go.If anybody is going, email me. I found my photos of Gibson when he did a presentation in 1989 (!) and I'd like for him to get copies. I'd also like someone to point out to him that the museum made a mistake on his plaque in the section on Long Island astronauts - they credited him with four flights, not five. No idea whether Gibson is "flying solo" or if Rhea will be with him. | |
