I have completed a new display piece which features an awesome NASA artifact; a Space Shuttle Main Engine Main Fuel Valve actuator. It will be on display at the NY State Fair, in Syracuse, NY, which runs from August, 26 through September, 6.My physics exhibit is called "The Harmonograph" and I will be set up in the Time Warner Science and Technonogy Building. Along with the actuator, I will be displaying Moon rocks, "flown" seed packs, and lots of other cool historical memorabilia and physics toys. I will also be demonstrating lasers and operating the big harmonograph to create unique continuous curve drawings for the public. A preview of the new display (and the actuator) may be viewed here. |

Steve, please introduce yourself if you see me at The Fair; I man the booth 12 hours a day for all 12 days.Science and Technology is the first big building to the right inside the main gate and I'm located in the Hall of Medicine near the bathrooms... I hand out free harmonograph drawings, but they are in demand and each one takes 5-8 minutes to render - I can't change gravity. | |
