I haven't seen any astronauts mentioned as attending but Apogee Books announced today that Curt Newport ("The Lost Spacecraft") and Lonnie Schorer ("Kids to Space") will be there, signing copies of their respective books. |

The web page re: this event says "jam-packed day of astronaut appearances...". I have not heard anything either but I'm checking and will report, as I know Robert will, any announcements... |

I plan on attending the festivities at NASM. I have the week off so I will be there. I would like to meet any cS members while there. I am looking forward to meeting Robert if he is attending. I will be wearing my Space Unit hat. Feel free to introduce yourself. Question for Robert- Will Curt Newport sign my book while he is there or does book need to be bought at NASM? ------------------ John Macco Vice President Space Unit Shady Side, Md. |

I have been known to be holding up a sign, "CS", at recent astronaut sightings. . . will check my calendar (actually will ask my wife) if I will be there. . . Space Day at NASM coincides with the AHOF ceremony at KSC. I'm still thinking about a spontaneous trip to KSC. Garry |

It does not matter to me whether the book was purchased at NASM or not. But they may have other ideas about this. I do believe that they ordered several boxes of my book. |

When I was there to see Cernan, Schirra and Stafford I brought my own copies of their books with me with no hassle.I still haven't been able to find out who, if any, astronauts will be there. Has anybody else heard anything yet? It is tomorrow. Pol |

I called the museum and the information desk said that there will definitely be astronauts there (their words) but they do not know who and they won't know until tomorrow.Pol |

If Hieb is there, it will mean he took an early morning flight from Florida from DC. He attended the Astronaut Hall of Fame Gala at the Kennedy Space Center this evening. |

Capt. Reightler, Dr. Dan Barry and Dr. Roger Crouch were present at the Air & Space Museum today. I was told that Dr. Barry was a substitute for Mr. Hieb. |
