I have it on good authority that Robert Pearlman, our gracious collectSPACE host, will be attending the National Space Society's 2007 International Space Development Conference in Dallas next month. As will I. Are any other cSers planning to attend?

For cSers in Dallas this weekend, I'll be speaking as part of a panel following the first Space Bloggers Summit (held earlier in the day):

Saturday's other ISDC speakers include NASA Ames Director Pete Worden, Buzz Aldrin, and during dinner, Spirit's and Opportunity's PI Steven Squyres.

Steve Squyres is a really good speaker and seems to be a really great guy. If anyone ever gets the chance I recommend going to hear him talk about Spirit and Opportunity.

I was hoping to beat Robert to this post:

I’m in Dallas at the International Space Development Conference and just attended a session titled “Space Bloggers Summit.” The panel included Glenn Reynolds of Instapundit.com, Anthony Duignan-Cabrera of Space.com, Alan Boyle of MSNBC, Jeff Foust of Spacepolitics.como, and our very own Robert Pearlman.

There was much good discussion of building communities, how the various space blogs interact with each other, and the impact they have on issues. Robert, I must say, acquitted himself very well.

Thanks Chris! It was good to see you, albeit far too briefly at the end of the summit meeting. I am sorry we did not have more time to chat.

I was honored to share the stage with Glenn, Jeff and Alan. Between the four of us, we represented a very popular wide-focus blog (Glenn), a niche blog (myself), a politically-focused blog (Jeff) and a general science, mainstream blog (Alan). It was greatly interesting hearing their reactions to the questions posted by Anthony from SPACE.com and by the audience.

Of course it was interesting to come up with my own answers to the same questions, too!

Hey, while you are in Dallas, don't forget to drop by the Frontiers of Flight Museum...home of Apollo 7...and other great stuff.

All times are CT (US)
