I was wondering if any of the major news networks (in the US) are going to be broadcasting the launch. If not, is the best option watching it online?

ABC has announced that it will broadcast "extensive coverage" of the launch. One would assume that CBS and NBC will do the same. |

My VCR will be running, along with NASA TV up and going on my computer...I'm pumped and ready...Gooooo Discovery!!!!! |

I am based in Germany and was wondering if anyone knows if any of the European networks will be carrying the launch. Depending on the time conversion BR (Bayerische Rundfunk) should carry the launch, but only if that falls within the wee hours of the morning our time.Many thanks in advance, and Godspeed the crew of Discovery! My TV will be locked on DirecTV channel 376 - NASA channel!FINALLY! My main reasons for installing a second dish just to get that channel will finally be fulfulled. Wooo hoo!!!

Let's hope that the coverage is done by people more in the know than the guy I saw on Fox News this afternoon around 5 PM interviewing Cady Coleman with RTF questions.At the end of the interview he said to his national audience..."Cady Coleman will be rocketed into space on Wednesday.....have a great flight Cady!" To which Cady just looked blankly into the camera with a look on her face as if to say....I won't respond to that so that no one in the world will ever know how much of an idiot you are. I got a good laugh out of her expression. |

Wow, that's impressive. I almost expected Darth Vader to show up durning that preview - wait...that wasn't for a movie. I'm so glad I have NASA TV at home, even if the major networks will all be covering it, you always have to put up with the pinhead "instant space expert" reporters babbling the whole time when you are trying to listen. They alway say "let's be quiet now and listen" but they never keep their mouths closed for long. You know what I mean! Go Discovery!!! Tom

And the "free" networks in my country have the nerve to call this COVERAGE ?????Too bad they are only "covering" this for the reason that most people watch auto races for...... Glad NASA fixed the dings this afternoon.....can't wait to see the ISS fly over in a day or two and the Shuttle trailing a few minutes behind it ! That is ALWAYS great fun ! GOOOOOOOOOOOO Discovery ! I know MSNBC is beginning coverage at 9 am and i believe is running through launch. CNN is most likely a safe bet. Fox news starts coverage at 3 i'm sure other networks will also have it its goingto be a big event. |

After doing a bit of researching, I discovered that the CNN TX time starts at 21:45 CET (Berlin time). That's for those of you who speak English but live in a non-English speaking country. Failing that the streaming NASATV feeds all work.I'll try and find out if NTV will cover at the same time as they are Germany's CNN daughter company, of course announcing in German. |
