Gareth-The "Challenger" TV movie was "good video" without a soul. Karen Allen who portrayed Christa McAuliffe just didn't capture her. The story line which had Christa essentially getting her crewmates to introduce themselves was dumb. It could have been so much better but Hollywood rarely gets it right with movies "based on a true story". When the Columbia movie is made (it's only a matter of time) I hope they pay attention to details. (FYI: See my last post about the Cape TV show-still in work) Tim |

Maybe you should have watched the UK TV Documentary that was on last night - 30th March 2005. Although I would not claim to be an expert on the disaster, I thought this was a very good. It seemed fresh and incisive, and I wish I had recorded it. |

The made for tv movie "Challenger" was pretty bad. I remeber one in one part they are in a meeting and there are mission patches on the wall and there were STS-26,27 and 29 patches on the wall. |

As the movie was shown on television in , I beleive in February, 1990, it would appear that the scene being referred to was filmed after March 1989 (when STS - 29 flew). The said, the patches probably were not noticable to the public at large, but only to the buffs like us (who know our spaceflight history) and people who worked on the missions (either with NASA or with a contractor). Therefore I cannot be particularly critical on the editor's for not catching that these emblems were not around until after the Challenger accident. |
