Received and posted with permission from Mike Graham, Curatorial Manager Bughouse, Aquarium and Clore Natural History Centre: quote: We are planning an event for this years Museums and Galleries Month in May, the theme for this year is Objects of Desire the Art of Collecting and we would like to invite collectors from the Merseyside area to display their collections at the Merseyside Maritime Museum. Each collector will be allocated a 6ft table, we are not looking for vast and expensive collections but more of an eccentric/magpie bent. The adults will have their day on Saturday 7th May and children on Sunday 8th May we will be awarding prizes for the best collectors/collections for the children. We are specifically looking at themes like a collection of match boxes, Dinky toys, postcards, comics etc the more eccentric the better . We will be asking the collectors to stay with their collections and talk about them with the visitors.
According to Mr. Graham, they would greatly enjoy having space collectors present at this event. If interested and available, contact Mr. Graham at mike.graham@liverpoolmuseums.org.uk[This message has been edited by Robert Pearlman (edited March 17, 2005).] |

Whoops! Sorry Matt. I had forgotten you were from that 'neck of the woods' [almost] too. Is there any one else I have missed? Thinking about it, Phil is not too far away either. Best wishes Rob Wood
