Dave Scott has announced a special fee for the show of $150. This is all I know at present. He will not be bringing books to the show, pending publication of his book in the US later this year. We feel it is important to pass along this information as soon as we get it instead of hinting and other scenarios. I wish we could tell you more. Al & Steve |

The real entrepreneur would have got himself a $500 flight to the UK, filled his suitcase with signed books, sold them at somwhere between $35 (UK signed price) and $180 back in the US AND made a profit! <ROFL> Nothing like a bit of transatlantic arbitrage! Paul Bramley |

Well, $15 is $15, I guess! Any person can charge whatever they like for an autograph. Am I correct in thinking that the reason Scott has been charging $165 is because of a contract with Aurora Galleries? If so, will his price be reduced after the contract expires? I hope that is the case. Mind you all, I'm not discouraged from getting Scott's autograph, but when you have two other Moonwalkers charging $40 and less at the same show, it just seems a bit much to have another charging almost four times as much. Yes, Scott has walked on the Moon, but he was not the first or second or last, but the 7th. Right in the middle. True, Scott and Irwin were the first to use the Lunar Rover, but even four other men did that as well. I know that Al is not responsible for the price, in fact, I applaud him for getting Scott for the show at any price. I don't know who is ultimately responsible for the price charged, but I hope it's not Scott himself. I'm still looking forward to meeting Scott and getting his autograph, but with so many wonderful people attending the show, it's a shame it comes down to one particular astronaut's price that will ultimately determine what everyone might be able to spend. Just saw Gene Cernan in San Diego and got his book and signature for the price of the book, $24.95. Couldn't be happier. | |
