An interesting article and poll in USA Today suggests that a return to the moon would cost roughly 1/10th the price we paid (in adjusted dollars) to do it the first time. And while most people would back such a plan, they are not necessarily ready to spend the money.

I would imagine the reason we could go to the moon for one tenth the cost is that we wouldn't have to build Cape Kennedy, Mission Control in Houston, and.......
