ORLANDO, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 5, 2003--Michael R. Henderson, Creator MOON, today announced the appointment of Rick Searfoss, Colonel, USAF (retired) to the MOON team.

As a space flyer Rick shares with only a handful of people some of the most unique human experiences possible. Rick is an accomplished Fighter Pilot, Test Pilot, Astronaut, and Space Shuttle Commander. His first space flight in 1993 set the record for the longest duration Space Shuttle mission and in 1996 he piloted Atlantis to the Russian space station Mir. Rick also commanded the most complex science research space mission ever, the 1998 STS-90 "Neurolab" mission.

"Colonel Searfoss shares with our global team the desire to bring the wonder of MOON to earth for all to enjoy, and we are delighted to have a person of his caliber on board," said Henderson.

"I'm very excited to join such dedicated visionaries in this grand, 'out-of-this-world' endeavor. As a precursor to the day when many more humans will enjoy the privilege of actually visiting space, the MOON project will capture a magnificent portion of the excitement and adventure of that wondrous experience," said Searfoss.

Robert, I'm not at all sure who this MOON team is supposed to be, or how they coerced Rick Searfoss into joining them, but anyone with an e-mail address that incorporates the words "moon," "resort" and "casino" would surely be a group that lacks credibility here. I may be a cynic, and completely awry in my judgement, but that's how it strikes me.

Colin, this is not a resort and casino on the Moon -- its a resort and Casino that uses the Moon and space exploration as a theme. Originally it was slated for Las Vegas, but has now taken the shape of five man-made islands with the final location yet to be announced.

Leonard David profiled the company one year ago:

Hi Robert...ah, that explains it. Makes me wonder if George W's rumoured "let's go to the moon" commitment is actually based on an overheard conversation about a family visit to the future resort ( )

All times are CT (US)
