Hello fellow CollectSpace friends. I enjoyed a great evening, Thursday, Nov 20 at NASM listening to a Scott Crossfield lecture and presentation. Mr. Crossfield spoke about the assault on Mach 2 and, even more exciting for me, the engineering and building and testing of a Wright flyer replica to be flown on the 100th anniversary of the first flight, December 17, at Kill Devil Hill. Mr. Crossfield was very gracious about autographs after the lecture. Hello the fellow CS friends I talked with including DJ, Bob L., Wayne, and Dwayne. A fantastic evening. |

Yeah, and Crossfield announced that that very day, the new Wright flyer had actually flown for the first time! So on the 50th anniversary of his Mach 2 flight, the pilot he trained flew an original design Wright flyer for the first time in almost 100 years...Quite a night. |
