I just saw a great new public service advertisement with former Senators Bob Dole and John Glenn.You see Bob Dole at a zoo with a bunch of kids in front of the elephant and Bob Dole says: The Elephant is a noble animal, it is smart, loyal, decent, kind, patriotic...
Then you see John Glenn in front of a bunch of kids at the donkey exhibit. Glenn says: The Donkey is a wonderful animal, smart, loyal, decent, kind, patriotic...
-- then it cuts to the President saying "help tutor kids" or something...
Finally it cuts back and Bob Dole is talking to himself in front of the Elephant and (thinking the kids are still there): "You know, when I was in the Senate I worked on..."
And there's John Glenn with all the kids following him around saying: "...and after that I orbited the Earth in a big rocketship."
(Note for our European friends: the Donkey and the Elephant are, respectively, the offical animals of the Democrat and Republican parties)
