The AAT issued 4 stamps (also valid postage in Australia) on 16 September 2008 to commemorate International Polar Year. One of the stamps entitled 'Astronomy' shows the AASTINO observatory on the Antarctic plateau. New Zealand issued a sheetlet of 26 stamps on 6 August 2008 entitled 'The A to Z of New Zealand'. One stamp features the Southern Cross. Both stamps can be seen on the Space Unit Web site. Ross.
