On 26 July 2007 Great Britain will issue a set of 6 stamps for the Centenary of Scouting. What has this got to do with Space? Well, one stamp notes that 11 of the 12 astronauts who walked on the moon were once scouts! The stamp shows a young scout looking at the moon. The Royal Mail will issue the Scout stamp commemorative set on the 26th July. Follow this link. All we want now is a proper space set (the Sputnik Anniversary would have been a good starting point). Thanks, Nick Spaceman. |

Today (1 August) is the 100th anniversary of World Scouts. I am sure all of the Astronauts who were Scouts are celebrating in their own way.So to all the Scouts (past and present), Parents, and those involved in the organisation, have a great day. Regards, Ian from Oz |
