China Post issued a commemorative stamp on Friday (April 24), China's Space Day, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the successful launch of Dongfanghong-1, China's first satellite. On April 24, 1970, China's first artificial Earth satellite "Dongfanghong 1" was launched from the Jiuquan satellite launch site by the "Long March 1" carrier rocket. The satellite accurately entered a predetermined orbit, and the "Dongfanghong" music spreading from space to all parts of the world has created a new era in the history of China's spaceflight, making China the fifth country in the world to independently develop and launch artificial earth satellites after the Soviet Union, the United States, France, and Japan. According to the China Post's website, the stamp is embossed, resulting in a three-dimensional feel to the art. The stamp also features a hidden "50" design revealed under ultraviolet light. And the stamp can serve as an AR (augmented reality) target to access digital content provided by the China Science and Technology Museum.
