Commemorative patch for the first artificial satellite, Sputnik, launched by the Soviet Union on Oct. 4, 1957.

The small spacecraft is depicted by its reflection of the Earth's blue and white colours, at the moment it is put into orbit by its R-7 launch vehicle. Five stars are shown touching the dark blue background; there are seven in the black part, representing the number 57.

The patch measures 100 mm and will be available from Skyforce Space Patches soon. © copyright Lucreation 2021
