ISS Expedition 38/39 Astronaut Wakata: Long-duration Mission for ISS Expedition 38/39

JAXA logo for long-duration expedition mission to the International Space Station (ISS) is designed based on the motif of the ball used in baseball, the favorite sports of Astronaut Wakata. Two vectors towards earth and space are likened to the stitches of baseball, and it shows that ISS fulfills this role in the narrow space between Earth and space. The term placed in the center includes the expectations that as the first Japanese and the first Asian commander, Astronaut Wakata will achieve several missions. The yellow line shows the light of many outcomes and wishes delivered by the use of space environment, and the red line shows expectations from and enthusiasm for the future space development and deep elucidation of space.
