A number of the space shuttle orbiter logos are known, presumably produced by Rockwell at the time, a few of which have turned up as embroidered patches.

What is the status of these designs? Just logos or patch designs? And were the embroidered examples produced by Rockwell?

The patch versions of those decals that I have use modern multi-head embroidery machines which means they're made well after the era that those decals were, so I presume the patches we see today are not original.

All the earlier Rockwell decals were produced by their graphics department at Palmdale, CA, throughout the 1970/80's.

If you want to see all of the decal sticker designs, I'll be happy to depict them all here. There are dozens of them.

To my knowledge, there were no vintage cloth patches produced by the aerospace company for any of the decal design issues.

Certainly interested in the other designs!

So I guess I should contact Boeing if I wanted to produce one or more designs as a patch?

They used all those designs on the Rockwell covers for those missions also. That is where I remember seeing them.

Thanks for showing them, Ken! There are some more cover designs, I will add those here for completeness soon.

I've only posted those known decal stickers here, however, I do have all of these and others not shown as cachet covers by The Rockwell Space Division Stamp Club of Downey, CA. I also have all the original rubber stamp devices of the same logos depicted that had been used in servicing cachet envelope covers by the employee club.
