What is actually known about these two Snoopy patches? Who made them, how were they distributed, and how common are they?  |

Going on a very old memory - I used to get the Stewart Aviation (UK) patch catalog as a teen, and seem to recall they sold a version of this. |

According to the Skylab News Reference, this version of Snoopy appeared in the wardroom's Waste Management Compartment to differentiate the three crewmens' personal hygiene kits, their towel and washcloth dispensers, and their towels and washcloths. The background on the commander's insignia was red, the pilot's was blue, and the science pilot's was white. The insignia on the science pilot's washcloths and towels, however, had a light blue background. |

I have seen a fair number of original Snoopy "Eyes on The Stars" decal/stickers, but have not seen this one with the red shield "PS" graphic in the lower left side (and do not see it on Google). Anyone else have one of these or know why the difference? |

The "pS" were the initials of Grumman's "Project Sterling" as explained in this internal memo from 1967. |

I've added a page on my CrewPatches.com website dedicated to NASA-related Snoopy patches.It doesn't include everything but many of the patches are covered. All are modern reproductions based on vintage decal designs, in my opinion, most likely produced by Randy Hunt (4gator) in the 1990s. Last week, AB Emblem began offering the Snoopy Launch, Lunar, and Recovery Team patches once again. These have been out of stock for sometime and now are up on their website for sale.
