I'm in the process of scratch-building a 1/10 scale model of the Apollo 13 spacecraft. It will be approximately 6 feet long when complete and will be adaptable to depicting other missions if required.

I will post occasional progress pics throughout the build. Tips and advice always welcome.

Based on the skeletal framework of navigator globe, the stand supports the model and the mission patch, both set at a tilt of 23.5 degrees, the same as the tilt of the Earth.

I've got a question regarding your fabrication technique. You have a photo of the Styrene cladding being adhered to the an MDF substrate. How did you form the MDF into a cylinder?

Thanks,

The ends are MDF circles fixed to each end of a frame then covered with a sheet of flexible MDF.

That's a great piece of modeling.

I saw a similar display at the Al Worden talk in Oxford - did you also make that one?
