I'm in the process of modelling Gemini IV and have decided to complete it in orbit with Edward White during his EVA.

My question is, were both the hatches, port and starboard, open during the EVA? Thank you for your time.

Check out this photo and zoom into the visor. Looks like the hatch was closed.

For all the Gemini EVAs the CDR hatch remained closed. There was always a concern about a hatch not closing correctly after an EVA so the theory was if it did not need to be opened don't open it.

The commander's hatch was always closed. The reason it looks backward in the visor is because it's a reflected image. If you look close, you can see that the other (pilot's) hatch is open.
