Hi I've brought my nephew the Revell MIR space station this Christmas, and I was wondering if any fellow space nuts(comrades)could email me with the basic colour scheme of the modle. The lads only 12 so were not talking ace fine scale modeller here, but it would give the lad an idea what to do.many thanks Ian.

To make it simple, the modules should all be painted flat tan. The flat panels with the lines, on the modules, should be flat white. The solar panels should be glossy blue on one side and glossy brown on the other.
The plastic solar panels included with the kit are undersized by a lot. If you are interested in making it more realistic, there is a metal set of solar panels (called photo-etched brass) at http://www.mus.cz/~ales/newware/
But that would be for you, not the 12 year old :-)

I believe YOu also have to buy replacement solar panels for that model as the original ones are too small in comparison with each module ... http://www.ninfinger.org/~sven/models/models.html#fotos
