I would like to know if the oxygen and water flow valves in the Apollo Portable Life Support System (PLSS) are solenoid valves or manual operated valves.

It seems to me that for the diverter valve
on the lower right corner of the PLSS is a manual valve. Thank you for your answers.

These would be manual valves, the water diverter valve was activated by the crewman to select the level of cooling required.

Reliability was a key design principle for the PLSS.

Oxygen was via a regulator valve.

If you send me an email I can send you an article I wrote on the PLSS design.
