I buy estates and in a recent buy a item was found that myself and many others have been trying to identify the history behind for with no luck. NASA camera lens Kollmorgan Corp f/1:153 MM EFL.70 mm image dia. Serial no. 2, model no. 857. From the research we have done we believe there are only two of these lenses in the world with NASA owning serial no. 1.
This lens was used by NASA in Wallops Island, Virginia. The Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport at NASA's Wallops Flight Facility is one of the oldest launch sites in the world, according to the NASA website. More than 14,000 rockets have been launched from Wallops Island, on Virginia's Eastern Shore.
We are looking for when it was used and what is was used on/for. We are also looking for other sites/groups to post on for help with the research of this NASA camera lens. I thank all in advance for any help.
