Order now and receive a SECOND space suit free (just pay separate handling & shipping).

That's a hoot...

Slightly before my time, but I believe $7.95 was a lot back then. That may have been the price of my Tintin books, while comics were 12 cents or so.

At any rate, to quote Eddie Murphy, "Wotta bahgain. That is a bahgain for me."

Makes you wonder what the first space autograph sold went for if there was such a transaction back then. I look at coin prices then and wince.

Keep in mind, ads like this were the best way to rip people off, back when it took forever to figure out who just suckered you.

Anyone remember seeing the ads for military Jeeps in the crates? All those ads were for was to sell people lists for government surplus listings, which were free to the public if you knew who to ask anyway.

NOBODY EVER bought a new Jeep in a crate for $50 from one of these ads. Yet, any military Jeep owner will keep running into people who swear they know someone who knows someone who bought one (they never can tell you where it is today, or even tell you who it was or any way to reach this person, yet people will argue to death that they know 'someone' who got one). Just google, "$50 Jeep in a crate" to see what I'm talking about...

Yea, funny ad. There were similar ads which offered the helmet too, but these were just surplus USAF MC-1 partial pressure suits. No idea if these were legitimate ads or not.

Probably not from this source, but many surplus Air Force suits like this ended up in late 50's and early 60's grade B science fiction movies.

Funny thing about the ad is, he has the suit on backwards.
