Does anyone know if the photos or logos inside an acrylic will fade if the piece is displayed in sunlight? Or does the thick plastic absorb the UV to protect what's placed inside? The examples below show a tinted acrylic with a color logo inside and a clear acrylic with a color photo. Thank you. |

Gary, great question. I have never seen that happen with any that I have. However, I have gone to the protect all mode. I put LED bulbs in the curios and UV film over the windows in the house. |

Plastics vary on their ability to reject or transmit UV based on formulation, thickness, source intensity and frequency. Unless you can absolutely establish what specific plastic was used to fabricate your display and its performance characteristics recommend not exposing to an illumination source which contains UV. |

It depends on the quality of the plastic used, and the quality of the print used in the display. Some plastics will even yellow over time. For example, I have a lapel pin from STS-1's 10th anniversary, and the plastic on it is already extremely yellowed. |
