Does any one have any information on the shuttle escape personnel parachute? I know it has a drouge chute, but what type? How big is the drouge? Is it a guide surface, ribless guide surface? Ribbon? Ring-Slot? How big are the slots? Does anyone have one? Can I go to JSC to watch one being packed? Any information would be helpful.

Scott- O.K.- Thanks! It's a 54 inch ribless guide surface. I would still like to see one up close! For anyone that's reading A Navy 26' conical is the ideal emergency parachute. It's what I used in a Cessna for many years and I'm glad to know it's used in the Shuttle today. -Lou
