Anyone have any detailed photos you can send of the top of the remote unit (where the camera was mounted to space suit)? Thanks Also looking for detailed photos of the back of the pack.

You should find everything you need on this page; a great site for photos of the suit.

Also this rather famous photo shows good detail of the bracket that the camera was mounted on. It's the hook to the right of the 'Aldrin' tag on the front of the RCU.

Look at this pic first; on the front of the RCU is a thin piece of metal that tapers at the top. This is a hook, it is fixed in position.

Now this pic, taken looking down on the RCU from above (i.e. the astronaut's point of view).

In this picture the mounting plate that the camera is usually attached to has been hooked onto the hook in the previous picture. You can just see the tapered end of the hook sticking out in the centre of the picture.

The broad face of the mounting plate is ordinarily attached directly on to the back of the camera. This view from the astronauts left shoulder shows the camera in place, but unfortunately you can't see how it's attached from this angle.

Hope that helps, email me if you'd like anymore details.

I'm building an Apollo suit A7LB but I can not find a photo where you see the back of the suit. If anyone can help me or indicate where I can find the photos. Thanks.

(If I tell you that I saw and photographed the Apollo suits inside Garber, I did not have take any photos of back of the suit!)

Editor's note: Threads merged.

Two years ago I built an Apollo A7-L spacesuit for an Italian museum. You can see here. Now I work on A7-LB (Charlie Duke's on Apollo 16):

Opinions and suggestions will be appreciated.

I am looking for diagrams of the official machining connections wrists, neck, connectors oxygen, water and electric in an attempt to reproduce on a digital lathe and other machining.

Someone would have it in his cartoons.

Air-lock is the company that manufactured them, I try to contact them but I never got answers. Please help me!

Damn! There must be a PDF file that I ask... I do not think it's held "top secret", only the machining. Thanks Charlie16.

It may not be "top secret," but it could be proprietary (and it may not be, I really do not know).

I cannot speak to the Apollo A7L, but for example, the design and construction of the shuttle Extravehicular Mobility Unit (EMU) portable life support system (PLSS) is the intellectual property of Hamilton Sundstrand.

So... Nobody can really help me!

Unless a person has original parts and they get up measures.

The only one I know is David J. in his blog you will see many pictures of turned parts, try asking the measures. You can find it http://apollospacesuits.com/
