U.S. EVA 27 gets underway
Astronauts Reid Wiseman and Alexander Gerst are now outside the International Space Station.
The spacewalk officially began at 7:30 a.m. CDT (1230 GMT).
Wiseman, wearing a suit with red stripes, is designated extravehicular crewmember one (EV1). Gerst is EV2 wearing a suit with no stripes.

Pump module relocated, relay installed
Reid Wiseman and Alexander Gerst completed the first Expedition 41 spacewalk at 1:43 p.m. CDT (1843 GMT), six hours and 13 minutes after they began.
"It's a good day for NASA. It's definitely a great day for the European Space Agency," Wiseman said after reentering the station's airlock.
The duo completed relocating and stowing a failed pump module for its possible future repair and reuse, replaced a light on a camera on the outside of the station's U.S. laboratory, and installed a relay that feeds backup power to the rail system that helps reposition the station's robotic arm.
Tuesday's (Oct. 7) spacewalk was the first for both Wiseman and Gerst. It was the 182nd spacewalk in support of station assembly and maintenance.
