Fezman92 | Why does the escape tower have all of that yellow tape? |
Michael Davis | The lines are probably part of the test gear and sensors to monitor the vibration of the escape tower during the oscillation tests. A former co-worker of mine was part of the this test. He told me that once the vibration of the tower became so dramatic that Cooper exited the command module for fear that the whole stack was about to collapse. This test must have really pushed the limits. |
MarylandSpace | Interesting photo. I enjoy them. Gordo got all the shakin' without the benefit of a Lunar launch. |
APG85 | Very cool! What became of this set-up? |
GACspaceguy | The CSM is in the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum as the Apollo half of the ASTP display there. Reference this page of A Field Guide to American Spacecraft website. |
APG85 | Fascinating. I hope there is a storyboard explaining it's history... |
hlbjr | Building 45 must be enormous. Where is it located on the JSC Campus? |
Apollo Redux | Nice. |
