T O P I C R E V I E WlewarrenI saw a new patch on Andy Thomas' blue flight suit in a picture posted on the Kennedy Space Center website. The patch is similar in style to the Mach 25 patch, but has the number 100 in large text (like the 25), with a space station crossing the number (like the shuttle), and "Days" in smaller text (like "Mach").Neato! This must have been made for the small (but growing) number of astronauts who have been in space for 100+ days. Jay ChladekA fair portion of the recent ISS astronaut contingent has gotten them. Sunita Williams, Clay Anderson, Dan Tani and Peggy Whitson all have them (as well as Ken Bowersox and Don Pettit I believe along with others). In Tani's case, I think somebody added it to his flight suit while he was still in orbit as I can recall the first images I saw of him wearing a blue flight suit when he got back had the patch on it (less then 24 hours after he returned home). Of course his flight wasn't originally supposed to last that long and it also is a hard earned badge considering his mom died while he was still in orbit.TomAny chance that they'll produce a "200 Day" patch for guys like Michael Lopez-Alegria and possibly Greg Chamitoff?Robert PearlmanI don't know about a '200 Days' patch, but Mark Kelly presented Garrett Reisman an "Almost 100 Days" patch at the STS-124 and Expedition 17 presentation held this past Thursday in Houston. Reisman logged 95 days and 9 hours during his first mission. On closer inspection, the patch was the same but with a card attached above it that read "Almost". Robert PearlmanTerry Virts, Anton Shkaplerov and Samantha Cristoforetti marked their 100 days in space on Tuesday (March 3) posing with the patches aboard the International Space Station:Robert PearlmanExpedition 45 flight engineers Kjell Lindgren and Kimiya Yui marked 100 days in space on Saturday (Oct. 31):Robert Pearlman quote:Originally posted by Tom:Any chance that they'll produce a "200 Day" patch... From Expedition 66 flight engineer Megan McArthur (via Twitter):Robert PearlmanSuni Williams was seen wearing a 300 Days patch when she arrived at Kennedy Space Center today for her launch on Boeing's Starliner Crew Flight Test. To date she has logged more than 321 days on her prior two missions. Other than the One Year on ISS patch, I believe 300 Days is currently the highest number "days" patch being worn.CollectingPatchesAnton Shkaplerov has a "500 Days" patch. I don't remember where I saw it but I think it was on his flight suit before the Soyuz MS-19 mission. There was also a thread in the Buy, Sell, Trade subforum a while back here on collectSPACE where the seller was selling one of these "500 Days" patches. I think they're made by someone in the TSPK.Robert PearlmanThanks! Here is a photo Anton Shkaplerov with his 500 Days patch. It does appear to use a different font from the others.Jacques van OeneAnton Shkaplerov now has a 700 days patch:
