T O P I C R E V I E WlunardreamerI have a Scott Carpenter autographed baseball I am offering for sale. Anyone interested, please email me with an offer. lunardreamerThere is interesting history behind this baseball. The ball used to belong to a man now deceased named James R. Williford III, hence the inscription: "To Jimmy". His father, James R. Williford Jr. was a friend of Scott Carpenter's way back before Scott's Mercury flight. In fact, Scott Carpenter referred to Jim Williford as "My first and best Naval Aviation Buddy." I know this because I also own the copy of "For Spacious Skies" that Carpenter personally signed and dedicated to Williford. If you refer to page 123 of "For Spacious Skies," you will see that Scott mentions Jim Williford. I love the history behind this baseball and thought others may enjoy it too. lunardreamerI have listed the ball on eBay for $195 or best offer. I will sell it here to a cS member for $150 which includes priority shipping in the USA. lunardreamerPrice lowered for cS members $135 and includes priority shipping. lunardreamerThe baseball is still available. It was purchased as part of a small lot that contained other items I wanted for my collection. It's a great item that displays nicely. I just don't collect signed baseball's. I will consider any offer. Thanks.
