Please use this topic to discuss collecting the autographs of NASA's first crewed flight of the Artemis program. NASA astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover and Christina Koch and Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jeremy Hansen will fly around the moon and back on the 10-day Artemis II mission. |

I contacted Jeremy Hansen a few years ago, requesting a photo. He provided a signed, personalized photo a few weeks later. Coincidentally, I also had the good fortune to sit next to Jeremy during a lecture by Charlie Duke in Flagstaff, Arizona. He patiently answered all my questions, posed for a photo, then introduced me to Don Pettit. Long story short, Jeremy Hansen is a class act! |

Wow...How exciting for the new Artemis II crew. Congratulations to all.I was thrilled when I was able to add this signed Omega X-33 Speedmaster case back to my collection a couple years back. A signed picture is great but a little piece of hardware is even better. Knowing more than a few people in the Tomcat community, I was fortunate enough to get my project to Tonto through a friend and he was gracious enough to sign a piece for my collection. What a thrill to have a future Moon voyager piece in my collection. Tonto's is also one of the coolest pieces in the collection. Impeccably signed and the "Fly Navy" is a great touch. They said Tonto was a rockstar and today proves it. If you read this Tonto BZ and safe travels. |

Here are just one autograph collector's experiences with the four Artemis II lunar astronauts. The autographs I received from these four came around the time of their selection/reporting to Johnson pace Center and via through the mail requests. Certainly later results could and have varied. - Reid Wiseman: Responded well but with generally an illegible signature
- Victor Glover: No responses through the mail and my only autograph from him was the result of buying a poorly signed portrait that was obtained in person
- Christina Koch: signed well at the time of her selection
- Jeremy Hansen: signed well at the time of his selection
It will be interesting to learn what will result autograph-related from these four in the days prior to their lunar flight. |

I was not there, but photographs (credit NASA/Keegan Barber) show that the Artemis II crew signed autographs as part of a meet and greet held at the Canadian Embassy in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday (May 17). |

It appears NASA now has Artemis II crew lithos with pre-printed signatures in white (from a May 19 event at Goddard Space Flight Center, photo: NASA/Joel Kowsky). |

From NASA press secretary Bethany Stevens: Tonight, kids across our nation will dress up as astronauts proving that what we do here NASA inspires the next generation. Pictured are two of Houston's own, Everett and Emma Evans, who hold a very special place in my heart! Tonight, they're wearing the names of the Artemis II crew, who by next Halloween, will have flown around the Moon! |

The President of the United States wants the Artemis II crew's autographs: When we can, I look forward to seeing you in the Oval Office. I will ask Jared [Isaacman] to bring you over, and I will ask for your autograph. I don't really ask for autographs much, but you deserve that, you really are something. Everybody is taking about this. |

I have a very unique autograph of one of the Artemis II crew members... Christina Koch. This cover, from my collection, was signed by the 12 crew members while aboard the International Space Station during Expeditions 59, 60 and 61. Kind of awesome that this autograph of the first woman to fly to the moon was actually signed in space! |

Tom, your cover was flown twice. It was inside the Soyuz MS-10 orbital section, when it crashed to Earth without parachute from a height of 50 km. These covers are the only crash mail from a manned space flight. |

That's right. Makes this cover "unique" for a couple of reasons. |

I can't determine which autograph scribble is Christina Koch's among these 12 on the flown cover, but back in 2015, she applied a careful autograph to a cover I sent her thru the mail. Jessica Meir's autograph can be found at bottom right on the flown cover. With the Artemis II crew's autographs not seen often, I hope that no forgers are lurking here. |

Bob, Christina Koch's autograph can be found just about in the middle of the flown cover.See photo above of Jeremy Hansen signing the patch wall at the Operations and Checkout Building at the Kennedy Space Center. Christina's signature is just below her name on the Artemis II patch. |

When they were working with Lightroom to film scenes for "The Moonwalkers: A Journey with Tom Hanks," the crew signed a NASA litho for Hanks and the production crew: |

The crew patch on Tom's cover is its original version. It includes Nikolai Tikhonov who was assigned as third crew member. During a walk in the evening one of his eyes was hit and injured by a branch. He retired from the Cosmonaut Corp in 2020 without having been in space. Here are two more covers which were signed in space by one member of the Artemis II crew: Reid Wiseman signed the ATV-5 cover and Victor Glover the Dragon Crew-1 cover during his first space mission.
