Does anyone happen to know where Mercury capsule 12B is now located?

According to American Spacecraft, it was last seen at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex in the old Early Space gallery back in 2014, which has become Heroes and Legends, but the capsule now in there is Sigma 7. There is no new location for this unflown capsule. I don't recall seeing it on my last two visits to the visitor complex, and wondered if anyone else has seen it or knows of its location?

Would appreciate any updates on its present location.

From what I have read, after being removed from the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex in 2016, the capsule was returned to the National Air and Space Museum for conservation and then delivered in 2019 to the New Mexico Museum of History in Santa Fe as part of a 50th anniversary of Apollo 11 exhibition.

Then, in October 2019, it and other pieces from the exhibition were moved to the New Mexico Museum of Space History for their long term display. I have not seen a photo of its current exhibit, but here is what it looked like after it first arrived in Alamogordo (photo courtesy of the museum).

Thanks so much for this tip-off. I sent an enquiry and both Mercury 12B and the LTA-5 lunar module test article both reside there, but are in storage pending finding space to display them…

All times are CT (US)
