Science Museum, London opens 'Space' gallery featuring Apollo capsule, UK tech

The only spacecraft to carry astronauts to the moon and today be on display outside of the United States is now back on exhibit.

The Science Museum in London has returned to public view NASA's Apollo 10 command module as part of the opening of its new, aptly-titled gallery "Space." The capsule, which since 1978 has been on loan from the Smithsonian, went off display in June as it was moved into the refreshed and expanded exhibition.

I hope the Science Museum has finally taken the opportunity to mention on a plaque identifying the Apollo 10 capsule the fact that it holds the record for the fastest vehicle ever to carry people; and that the three astronauts on board were and still are the fastest humans who have ever lived.

I would appreciate it if anyone who visits the new display could indicate whether the above points are mentioned. I visited the Science Museum four or five times over the last 30 years and every time I asked why the above information was not mentioned on the display, I was (inexplicably in my opinion) met with complete indifference. There seemed to be a complete inability to understand why that information would be of any interest to members of the public viewing "Charlie Brown."
