Roscosmos release
Soyuz MS-28 mission patch

The emblem of Soyuz MS-28 which will fly to the ISS on November 27, 2025 with Sergey Kud-Sverchkov, Sergey Mikayev and Christopher Williams as crew members. The bird on the emblem is a gyrfalcon, which is also the call sign of the crew.

The first patch from the flight batch by Glavkosmos. No plastic on the back for space suits by Zvezda and onboard suits by Kentavr.

From Sergey Kud-Sverchkov on Instagram.
Our crew's first patches finally arrived! For those interested in the insignia, I've included a description below.

The description is the formal part of any emblem; it's essential. Therefore, the language of the description is very formal. So:

The emblem of the Soyuz MS-28 spacecraft crew is a circle, the depth of which is emphasized by the dark blue color, symbolizing the boundless expanse of space.

At the top of the emblem are the names of the crew members. Below, the Roscosmos logo proudly appears.

Below the logo is the silhouette of the Russian Soyuz spacecraft, and next to it is an image of the International Space Station (ISS), a shimmering pearl in orbit, the spacecraft's destination.

The right side of the emblem is occupied by a stylized gyrfalcon, a symbol of strength and speed, and the crew's call sign. To the right of the gyrfalcon, along the edge of the emblem, are the flags of the countries participating in the flight, denoting international cooperation in space exploration. Stars are scattered on a blue background, the three brightest of which stand out, symbolizing the three crew members of the spacecraft.

At the bottom left, beneath the gaze of the gyrfalcon, the outline of the Earth appears, surrounded by a thin blue band of atmosphere, reminiscent of home. Against the background of the Earth are the name and serial number of the spacecraft: Soyuz MS-28.

The emblem was designed by artist and designer Alima Feyzulina.

Roscosmos and Tricolor are running a competition to design the "People's Chevron" for Sergey Kud-Sverchkov, Sergey Mikayev and Christopher Williams to wear on their Sokol suits' shoulders during the Soyuz MS-28 mission:
The winner will receive a trip to Baikonur for two, where they will witness a rocket launch with their own eyes. And the chevron they created will fly to the ISS with the cosmonauts!
The contest is only open to adults living in the Russian Federation. Those under 18 can participate through their parents or legal guardians.

Submission deadline is Oct. 22, 2025. A jury will select 10 finalists. A public vote will then be held in the Tricolor community from Oct. 28 to Nov. 2. The winner will be announced on Nov. 3.

From Roscosmos:
Roscosmos cosmonauts and a NASA astronaut will soon launch into orbit. Their uniforms will be adorned with the "People's Chevron."

What is the "People's Chevron"?

The top ten entries have already been selected by a celebrity jury. Now the vote, which is taking place in the official Tricolor VKontakte community, will decide.

Voting results – November 3rd.

The winner of the competition will travel to Baikonur to witness the launch with their own eyes.

From Tricolor:
We received over 1,000 entries from across the country! Each one is filled with creativity, inspiration, and a love of space. Of this incredible number of ideas, 10 sketches made it to the finals, and today we're ready to announce the winner, whose chevron will be sent to the ISS with the astronauts.

We sincerely thank all the authors for their talent, interest, and support of the contest, but we believe it's important that the victory be fair and deserved.

Based on the voting results, Irina Kiyan, whose work received the most real support, is the winner. Congratulations to Irina and our gratitude to all participants for your efforts and imagination.

Nine finalists will receive 65-inch Tricolor QLED TVs. We will be in touch with the finalists and the winner very soon, and everyone else is invited to follow the launch preparations. It's just around the corner!

I suppose they could do a woven patch, which would further distinguish it from the crew patch.

A pity that it appears to show a first-generation Soyuz spacecraft and a Vostok/Voskhod launcher...

Roscosmos (and not Glavkosmos) will order this patch and I have major doubts it'll be a woven one.

Roscosmos ordered a limited batch of 100 patches by the same manufacturer who works with Glavkosmos.

I would have liked to have seen a hydrid of dye-sublimation and embroidered patch, preserve the intricate details, but also have the classic textile feel of embroidery.

That’s my feeling too.

The manufacturer got skilled now after he is working for crew patches with Glavkosmos since the MS-22.

This patch is not an official logo of MS-28 crew Just a souvenir. Will not be on Sokols space suits of the crew but will go to the ISS. That's why I will add it to my Soyuz crews patches collection.
