For cosmonaut Oleg Kononenko’s record-breaking mission as part of Expedition 71, I designed, produced and gifted him a special patch to commemorate his passing of 1,000 cumulative days on orbit over five missions, on June 5th, 2024.The five lines in the top of the design symbolise Oleg's fifth space mission. The line passing through the number '1000' symbolises the breaking of the record. The chain around the border comes from the official ISS program patch. The orientation of the ISS focuses on the Russian segment in this view. In the background is the Scorpio constellation, as its most prominent star is Antares, from which Kononenko took his cosmonaut callsign. The crescent moon is taken from the Turkmenistan flag for Oleg's home country. A small number of patches is currently on board the ISS.

Very nice Luc! I am sure Oleg was appreciative. Do you plan to offer unflown patches to collectors? |

Is there ISS seal on the back side of the patches on the photo? Usually Oleg puts ISS seal on the back of patches. |
