Budweiser Global Barley Research patchAB Emblem is offering a limited edition patch (design AB-GBR) for Budweiser's Global Barley Research aboard the International Space Station. To date, Budweiser has sent three experiments to the space station in partnership with the Center for the Advancement of Science in Space (CASIS) and Space Tango. Results from this research could help the company develop new malt barley varieties that are more tolerant to extreme stress environments and could also provide valuable insight for the general agricultural community. The company has announced a bid to be "the first beer on Mars." |

As per our AB Emblem rep., "They are sold out and will not be made again. We are not allowed to make them custom." |

I don't think employees (senior management probably) of Budweiser had an advantage of being offered any of these Global Barley Research patches ahead of sales via the AB Emblem website (which was the only way that anyone could purchase these limited edition patches). |

Budweiser distributed patches to team members working on the project and gave out others at (at least) their first launch at the Kennedy Space Center in December 2017. |

I have received my Budweiser Global Barley Research patches from AB Emblem today. I can now confirm that none of them have embedded labels on them.Dose anyone know if the ones distributed at the Kennedy Space Center in December 2017 had embedded labels on them? |

Here is a side-by-side comparison of the patch given out by Budweiser at Kennedy Space Center in December 2017 (at left) and the "limited edition" sold by AB Emblem in December 2018. In addition to the color differences, the 2018 edition is has a thicker overall construction and a more pronounced outer border. |

Though not yet seen as an embroidered patch, here is Budweiser's CRS-16 version of its Global Barley Research insignia, representing the Microgravity Micromalting experiment, the company's third study to fly to the space station (via @ticklestuffyo on Twitter). |

The SpaceX collectors group released two replica "AB in Space" patches. Here are scans side by side with an original (top left).
