Moleskine brings space to the page with NASA-inspired notebooks
August 19, 2025 — Whether you are an astronaut looking to plan your next trajectory to the moon or a parent preparing to launch your child back to school, Moleskine now has a limited edition collection ready for your mission.
The Italian luxury papermaker has introduced its first NASA-inspired products, including notebooks and journals.
"Step into a collection that celebrates curiosity, discovery and the awe-inspiring journey through space," reads Moleskine's website. "The NASA-inspired limited edition pays tribute to the pioneering spirit that drives every breakthrough — reminding us that even the boldest missions begin with a single idea scribbled down on a page. Because putting pen to paper is the best way to explore the boundless potential of human genius."
Styled after the notebooks used by Vincent Van Gogh, Pablo Picasso and Ernest Hemingway, Moleskine's new NASA products gained a unique look from the help of a modern-day artist.
"Moleskine sought to honor NASA's legacy of space exploration while developing products that spark creativity and nurture emerging artists on their creative journeys. However, with most of NASA's design assets available in the public domain, the question was clear: how could Moleskine set itself apart from competitors and create a truly distinctive offering?" reads the project profile on the ARTiSTORY website.
"Inspired by the wonders of space, ARTiSTORY collaborated with British illustrator Patrick Corrigan to create the distinctive NASA-themed Limited Edition Moon illustration series, featuring playful astronauts, planetary motifs, and whimsical floral accents. Drawing from these designs, Moleskine curated a collection of collectible products — from notebooks to metal pins — each piece celebrating iconic lunar milestones with bold, expressive visuals that transform NASA's scientific achievements into creative, everyday treasures," wrote the licensing firm.
The NASA line, which includes products available from Moleskine's website now and others coming soon, begins with a Volant-style flexible journal with a glow-in-the-dark cover ($12) and a pair of Cahier journals — one with a simple shuttle icon on its black cover and the other with a lunar surface print featuring an astronaut's bootprint ($20).
There is also a lie-flat, lined-paper notebook with an included set of NASA mission patch stickers and an embossed bookmark that reads, "even the most giant leaps begin with the smallest ideas noted down on the page." The notebook features the lunar surface and NASA's "meatball" insignia on its soft-touch cover and comes in a gift box ($37).
There is also a set of two zinc-alloy pins that can be affixed to the notebook's elastic closure (or, with the included kit, attached to the journals) that are shaped as Corrigan's astronaut and SLS-style rocket illustrations ($65).
Lastly, there is a boxed gift set with a large, silver paper hardcover notebook "inspired by technical materials used in space," add-on stickers, the two NASA-inspired pins and four firm Blackwing pencils with a moon phase motif ($70).
"The drawing box represents your space to explore the infinite wonder of your creativity, uncovering inspiration every time you put pen to paper. It's the perfect gift for visionaries of all kinds — thinkers, tinkerers, dreamers, and explorers — past, present, and future," Moleskine's website reads. |
