Fra MauroI remember it well. There was speculation that Reagan might authorize a 5th shuttle but that didn't happen as we know.
astro-nutThank you for posting and sharing these historical moments from the beginning of the Space Shuttle Program. I remember this day well and watching the landing and President Reagan. Unfortunately, the television networks cut off coverage to show regular programming after like 30 minutes of coverage. It is great to see the coverage again. What a great 4th of July it was!!
Greggy_DWhat a fantastic time to be alive! The national pride in the shuttle program was unmatched in the early years.
